Please mark your calendars for Oct. 7 as Teaching Artists of the Lehigh Valley (TALV) and Teaching Artists of the Mid-Atlantic (TAMA) honor Dave Fry for his remarkable contributions to the artistic community. TALV and TAMA are organizations that support practicing artists in their respective areas who incorporate elements of teaching into their artistic practices.
Dave has recently completed a three-year term as TAMA’s Executive Board Secretary and will be awarded for his outstanding service. TAMA, which supports teaching artists in DE, DC, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA, and WV areas, has greatly benefited from Dave’s dedication and hard work. Moreover, Dave has been an integral part of the local artistic community for many years. While TAMA aims to seed local networks of TAs throughout the region, Dave may have launched the first network in the region! He regularly invites artists to meet at Godfrey Daniels, where they share valuable information on their art practices and the creative processes they have developed for working with schools, institutions, and performances. Through these meetings, local graphic artists, poets, musicians, actors, and painters have gained insights into how they can better use their art to inspire and educate others.
Don’t miss this chance to honor Dave Fry, a true champion of teaching artistry!

As professionals, we face the challenge of limited data about who we are, what we do and where we work, which makes it hard to advocate for and secure funding and policies that benefit us. But worry not! Your profile can help promote your work and provide data for our region. When filling out your profile, you can control who sees the content in every field. Visibility options include: everyone, only me, all members, and my friends. Just a heads up, the “Only Me” option includes TAMA administration so we can collect the data for the field.
