Two Figure Models hold a puzzle piece. The words, "The wise Teaching Artist cultivates strong collegial relationships and deep friendships to find the best jobs." By Michael Wiggins in Teaching Artist Sutras

Drop in for a few minutes or participate in the full hour. Join every session, or come every once in a while. Cafes are for, by, and about Teaching Artists. Topics are relevant to the continually shifting times!  In all sessions, we recognize the Ubuntu philosophy of

I am because we are.

The TA Cafe is where members:

  • grow business skills,
  • build a public narrative develop, organize and mobilize,
  • develop as a TA Leader!

Our informal agenda is:

  1. Introductions: Come share who you are and what your upcoming plans and goals are.  The field of teaching artistry is still young.  We define it together!
  2. Answer TAMA Website Challenges: Our website is new, and we are learning how to best use it together. Come participate in a Cafe for insights and tutorials!
  3. Business Skills for Artists:  Check out this resource. Let’s grow a sustainable career and build TA-centered businesses.
  4. Advocacy 101:  It wouldn’t be the TA Cafe if we didn’t talk ADVOCACY! Working together we can harness the power of a shared public narrative.
  5. Open Discussion: Bring questions and challenges for colleagues to brainstorm. Let’s innovate and reimagine the field together.

The zoom link for this session is in the TA Cafe Forum!

Together we are stronger, braver, wiser!

Know of an event we should include?

Thanks for completing your profile!

One of the challenges of our profession is that there is very little data about who we are, what we do and where we are working. Without a documentable presence, it’s difficult to advocate for funding and policies that benefit our work. Your profile will both help promote your work individually and it will help us aggregate data for our region. As you fill in the blanks below, you will have a choice as to who is allowed to see some of the information. Please note that the “Just Me” option does allow TAMA administration to see what you’ve entered. For example, when you enter your phone number, you can prevent that from appearing in your profile if you like, but TAMA administration can see it.
